Jan Nimmo has been working for many years now with young people, both within the Secondary School and Further Education sectors well as in the community. Projects carried out to date cross both fine art and design disciplines and are inclusive, fun and often collaborative. Multidisciplinary workshops include textile workshops - flags, banners etc, sculpture, art of recycling, jewellery, painting, printmaking, collage, mosaic, mask making and image manipulation.

Jan has worked in the FE sector teaching graphic design and has carried out various projects at Springburn Academy and Bellahouston Academy, including printed textiles, fantastic sculptures and printmaking.

Jan has worked with Glasgow City Council Museum Education Services to carry out workshops that have complemented various exhibitions and has also worked with looked after and accommodated young people doing textile workshops at the Burrell Collection, Glasgow.

Jan carried out various workshops in secondary schools which were part of the 16 days eliminate violence against women as part of the Glasgow City Education Campaign in 2003.

Jan has also carried out workshops at The Lighthouse, Glasgow and issues based collage workshops for young people and adult at GOMA (Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art).

Jan has recently been working with young people in Clackmannshire as a follow on from a youth conference held in Dec 2004.

Logo workshops in Toryglen, Glasgow: working with youth groups to create logo for Toryglen Social Inclusion Partnership and with Toryglen youth to create graphics for Glasgow City Holiday Programme.
